Preferences granted to atomic energy experts

Posted at 14h54, day 02 February, 2010

The Hanoi Times - Atomic energy experts will enjoy preferential conditions in recruitment, working environment, accommodations and travel, according to a new decree guiding the implementation of the Law on Atomic Energy.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung explained that, to attract qualified experts for this sector, the Government will grant incentives for atomic energy experts, including appointments to important positions at sci-tech organistions and in national projects.

Such experts will be paid from the state budget, with preferential allowances worth up to 70 percent of their salaries. Excellent students in the field of atomic energy will also be recruited to state agencies.

The state will grant scholarships for those who study atomic energy at the university and post-university levels at home and subsidize their school fees if they study abroad.

Vietnam will need around 2400 people to run its first two nuclear power plants in 2014. The country presently has only 2008 people working in this field.
