Hanoi commutes sentences of 370 prisoners

The Hanoi Times - As many as 370 prisoners in Hanoi’s three jails will have their sentences commuted o­n the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival under a decision by the Hanoi People’s Court announced o­n February 3.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Hanoi Police Deputy Director Tran Thuy praised the inmates’ efforts during their time in jail and encouraged those who didn’t receive commuted sentences o­n this occasion to endeavour, through hard work, re-education and good behaviour, to be among those selected next time.
