Construction works for Hanoi’s millennial celebrations needs $267mil.

The Hanoi Times -  Hanoi has asked the government to urgently allocate 4.88 trillion dong equivalent to $267 million, to projects to celebrate the Thang Long-Hanoi 1000th anniversary.

 

More than 2 trillion dong will be spent o­n site clearances while another 2 trillion will be invested in 12 projects - the Hanoi Museum, Hoa Binh Park, Hanoi Elite Sports Training Centre, Hanoi High School for Gifted Students, Vietnam-Republic of Korea Vocational Training College, Hi-tech Vocational Training School, the road to the Co Loa historical relic, the extended Highway 5, Van Cao – West Lake road, La Thanh-Thai Ha-Lang road, and the upgrade of National Highway 32.

 

Hanoi’s vice chairman Hoang Manh Hien said that the city’s fund for capital construction is around 14 trillion dong. Around 8 trillion dong is needed for projects to celebrate the city’s 1000th anniversary, including. 2.4 trillion dong for projects which must be completed this year. However, Hien said that the city can arrange o­nly 2.6 trillion dong for these projects.
